LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Early voting for Louisiana’s December 10, 2016, open general/congressional election will begin on Saturday, November 26, 2016.

On December 10, Acadiana residents will vote for Louisiana’s US Senate seat, 3rd and 4th US Congressional seats, and local propositions and millages.

Early voting locations will be closed Sunday, November 27, 2016, but will be open Monday, November 28, 2016, through Saturday, December 3, 2016.

You can early vote at your parish’s registrar of voters office between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Proper identification is required to early vote.

Officials say you need to bring your current Louisiana driver’s license or identification card along with your voter identification card.

Voters who require assistance during early voting or when they go to their voting precinct on election day are required to bring a physician’s certificate or excuse stating the reason they need assistance.
