LAFAYETTE (KLFY) – Dozens of bomb sniffing dogs were killed in Kuwait in a massive euthanization effort earlier this month, and former employees are blaming the security company in charge of them.
People are accusing a highly respected canine training company in Acadiana of being connected to the deaths and the owner of that company said he has nothing to do with the brutal killing
According to the Kuwait Times, former employees claim the security company “Eastern Securities” killed at least 24 USK9 dogs after their contract was revoked with an oil company in Kuwait.
According to a Kuwait Animal Rescue Unit Instagram post, they show dozens of dogs’ bodies piled on top of each other.
The article linked those K9 dogs to USK9 unlimited nearby in Kaplan.
“The people connected through an article that said US K9 dogs, a company in Louisiana, which was not us. It’s not USK9 Unlimited,” said Roger Abshire, CEO of USK9 Unlimited.
Abshire said USK9 conducted business with Eastern Securities in 2008, but ended the contract in 2009 for contract breaches and failure to pay for services.
“The United States Department of State called us and verified that we were not the current vendor when this horrendous crime had taken place,” Abshire said.
According to records currently on file with the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office, Eastern Securities is a subsidiary of Eastern Solutions group, whose president is Lafayette businessman Nidal Balbeisi.
However according to Balbesei’s public relations representative, Balbesei is not the president of Eastern Solutions. The following statement has been released by Nidal Balbesei’s public relations representative, in regards to the death of the dogs:
Dasman, Kuwait – On June 17, 2016, Eastern Securities, one of the premier private contactors providing K-9 security in Kuwait and other Middle East countries, found out, via a social media post, that 24 of its dogs had been killed. In what is developing into a case of corporate sabotage, a veterinarian technician, who worked for the agency where Eastern Securities leases its kennels, went to the kennels in the middle of the night, euthanized 24 dogs, photographed and sent pictures to a competitor of Eastern Securities, that have been since been leaked on the internet. Eastern Securities immediately launched an investigation and during the interrogation of both the veterinarian technician and the K-9 manager, an admission was made that Eastern Securities had nothing to do with the killing of the dogs. Criminal charges were filed against this depraved killer, who put down the dogs and an investigation continues to ascertain and bring to justice the names of additional culprits that helped commit this heinous crime.
“Eastern Securities has spent years building a reputation as one of the best providers of K-9 security in the Middle East. It is the reason government agencies and top corporations trust us. Taking care of our animals has always been and will always be one of our top priorities. To be targeted by our competitors in such a vile and ruthless manner is a despicable display of greed. We are asking that this case be prosecuted to the fullest extent and are working with the Kuwaiti government to ensure those responsible are held accountable and something this horrific never happens again. We will not stop until all those involved are brought to justice,” said Bill Baisey, CEO of Eastern Solutions Group, the parent company of Eastern Securities.

“Competitors of our company, both in the United States and in the Middle East, are at the center of this atrocity. We are heartbroken at the loss of our animals and the extreme lengths competitors will go to for money. We simply want the public to know the truth.
