Paul Marx, the founder of KBON Radio in Eunice passed away Sunday following a brief illness.

News Ten’s Sylvia Masters spoke with his co-workers about the impact he made throughout Acadiana.

Phil Daigle, an on-air personality for KBON, worked with Paul since their beginning in 1997. He says they’ve been inundated with messages from listeners regarding Paul’s passing.

“Jim Gardmah in Lafayette I can remember Saturday mornings was the time to hear zydeco music and Sundays Cajun music.”

“One of the things that make us KOBN really unique besides the music that we play is the artists that have visited through the years and that’s almost 22 years now so some of these  signatures are almost 22 years.”

Todd says Paul’s goal has always been to play louisiana music 24 hours a day, every day.

“It’s just like the way to have this music played every day. You didn’t have to wait for the weekend and if you like Conway and Clint west you could hear them all on the same station and it’s accomplished that.”

“Working with Paul was great. It’s sad that we’re going to be without him but he would’ve wanted us to
