Eunice Police are investigating the homicide of 22-year-old Akeem Ceaser.
Ceaser went missing on Christmas Eve.
His body was found last week in a wooded area off of Magnolia Street.
Ceaser’s older sister, Alpolonia Allison, described him as a person who got along with everyone.
“Nobody should have to go through that. He was such a good person. I really don’t think my brother had an enemy.”
Her family is still trying to process what happened.
“It took us by shock because he was so young. He was so young. He’s 22 now, but I don’t even know if my brother made it to see his 22nd birthday.”
After an autopsy was done last week, his death was ruled a homicide after a single gunshot wound was found.
“We’ve been following a timeline trying to find somebody who has seen him since then. We have not spoken to anyone who has seen him since December 24th,” Chief Randy Fontenot with the Eunice Police tells KLFY’s Jazmin Thibodeaux.
Chief Fontenot said they are following a few leads.
“We have several people of interest that we need to speak to that we know that has had some type of connection with him.”
Ceaser’s mother, Vanessa Lewis, said she’s dealing with the loss of her son one day at a time.
“I want the people who wronged Akeem just to think about that you done because God has the last say. I’ve cried enough and I’m just going to see that my son is getting blessed.”
Chief Fontenot is asking for anyone with information of Ceaser’s last whereabouts prior to his death to call the Eunice Police Department.
