Fezzo’s newest location in Broussard received heavy fire damage Sunday night.

The owner, Pat Bordes, says it happened just before 11 pm.

He thanks the Broussard, Youngsville and Milton Fire departments as well as Broussard Police and Acadian Ambulance for their rapid response.

They were able to contain the flames to the outside loading dock of the building.

The back of the restaurant is heavily damaged, while the dining area received minor water damage from the building’s sprinkler system.

Bordes is grateful for a community that’s willing to help them pick up the pieces today.

“We’re really blessed that the community has really… we got phone calls and texts and emails.. and, just contacting us and supporting us and lending any kind of help that they can help us with.  We’re very fortunate to have that,” he says.

Fezzo’s opened this location in November 2016.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.

The owners are expected to reopen Wednesday.
