LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) Fire crews are on the scene at Fat Albert’s Fried Chicken Restaurant in North Lafayette.

A fire was reported just after 7 p.m. Sunday at the restaurant located on the corner of Moss Street and Willow.

Fire Department Public Information officer Alton Trahan has confimred that the fire began in the kitchen area after a piece of wooden material was placed on a grill.

He said the heat from the grill ignited the material and caused the flames.

There were no injuiries reported and the fire was contained, Trahan said.
