Float rider injured during Youngsville Mardi Gras Parade

UPDATE: At 7:55 p.m. Youngsville Police Chief Rickey Boudreaux issued the following statement: “While the investigation is ongoing it has been determined that the person injured during the Youngsville Mardi Gras parade was walking along side the float handing out throws, where she got too close and her ankle was run over by the tires of the float. She received a moderate injury to her ankle which required surgery which is going on at the time of this release.  The original story of her jumping off of the float was determined to be untrue. Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured person and her family.”
