SCOTT, La. (KLFY) – In the city of Scott in a matter of hours, the amount of water on the roadway obviously decreased.

Thursday afternoon parts of Old Spanish Trail were completely covered in water, at least 2 to 3 inches in some areas.

Yvonne Boullion, who lives on Old Spanish Trail says it often floods on her street and causes her to worry when going to and from work.

“I don’t know if I’m going to be able to get to my house because the roads would be flooded. My car is low so, you just have to worry every time it rains hard”, Boullion said.

Because of that rain high water led to a few road closures in the city.

Boullion says she’s not sure what can be done to fix the problem.

“The ditches are deep. I really don’t know what Scott could do to fix the drainage but they need to do something”, she explains.

Scott resident Jeffrey Racca told us it’s because of dredging done around the city over the past year flooding wasn’t so bad his time around.

“The flooding in the past was bad! It looks like it improved some since they redid the ditches and everything,” Racca said.
