The former CEO of the Smile Community Action Agency is accused of sexual misconduct with a former employee. The agency is also named in a lawsuit filed in federal court.

Smile CEO Craig Mathews acknowledges the lawsuit and says the agency is being accused of failing to respond to complaints filed.

“We don’t know the merits of the case as to what did or did not happen.  We are going to go through the legal proceedings to do what’s necessary to protect the agency’s public image and future of smile.”

The alleged victim in the lawsuit says Chris Williams refused to take no for an answer to his sexual advances.

She stated by April 2017, she was manipulated into providing sexual favors in exchange for promises of promotion, increased pay and job retention.

In the complaint, she said she feared for her job security especially as a single mother.
