Four Avoyelles Parish suspects were arrested for possessing stolen firearms late Friday afternoon at a Marksville residence.
During the course of a burglary investigation, Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives developed information leading them to 260 Scallan St., Marksville, La. in search of stolen firearms. A subsequent search of the residence resulted in the recovery of 11 rifles and shotguns hidden throughout the residence. Investigators have positive stolen confirmation on some of the weapons and are working to identify the remainder which are to believed to have come from local burglaries of autos and homes.
Arrested were: Devonte Davis, age 24 of Marksville, La.
Alexandria Castro, age 21 of Moreauville, La.
Deantrae Sampson, age 25 ofMarksville, La.
Demarcus Hayward, age 25 of Marksville, La.
All four were charged with Possession of a Schedule I CDS, 11 counts of Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms, 1 count of Criminal Conspiracy and 1 count of Illegal Carrying of Weapons.
Davis, Hayward and Sampson were also charged with 11 counts of Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The four were booked into the parish jail and are awaiting bond.
