OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY)- Four suspects were taken into custody Tuesday in connection with the shooting of a 15-year-old boy on Sept. 15.

The teen was shot early that morning outside a fast food restaurant on Creswell Lane.

He is in serious condition, Opelousas Police Chief Martin McClendon said.

The shooting stemmed from an earlier fight, the chief said.

Police arrested 17-year-old Junterious Vaughns; authorities say Vaughns will be charged as an adult.

Lajana Stevenson, 19, was also arrested along with two other under-aged suspects in connection to the shooting.

The four face the following charges:

  • Attempted First Degree Murder
  • Attempted Aggravated assault with a firearm, by drive-by shooting
  • Violation of a Firearms Free zone

Police say two additional juveniles are wanted in connection with the shooting.

Two juvenile suspects were taken into custody Tuesday and later released to their guardians pending juvenile court.

Eleven students were charged in connection with the fight.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
