A Franklin teen was arrested earlier this week after police allegedly found drugs in a vehicle she was operating.

According to Chitimacha Tribal Police, a complaint around 10 p.m. Thursday regarding erratic behavior and erratic driving of a vehicle on the Chitimacha Tribal Reservation led an officer to make contact with the driver, 18 year old Carlie Adams, of Franklin.

During the stop, it was determined that she did not have a valid driver’s license and exhibited suspicious behavior, according to Chief Hal Hutchinson.

The officer deployed his K-9 partner “Dozer”, who alerted on the vehicle, and during a search heroin, marijuana, schedule IV pills (Tramadol) and drug paraphernalia items were located, Hutchinson said.

Adams was arrested and booked into the St. Mary Parish Jail on the following charges:
Possession of Schedule 1 (Marijuana)

Possession of Schedule 1 (Heroin),

Possession of Schedule IV (Tramadol),

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

No Driver’s License
