Funeral service information has been released for the five Marksville kids killed in a fiery crash January 3, 2019 in Florida.

Services for 14-year-old Joel Duane Cloud will be held in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.  Cloud died January 3

According to his obituary, Joel loved to smile, loved to make people laugh, and loved being involved in his church. He was a typical boy and never could keep his shoes on his feet. Joel loved fishing, his dogs, playing video games, board games and enjoyed reading all kinds of books. He was a very giving child, for his birthday he would ask to donate to St. Jude’s instead of receiving birthday gifts. 

Services for 14-year-old Jeremiah Jayce Warren will also be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.

Jeremiah’s obituary states that he was a big fan of Michael Jackson and loved to dance. He always watched YouTube and wished one day to have a YouTube channel of his own. He was a quiet and well-behaved kid, however a very protective big brother. He was a great friend to all but he and his friend Joel were “best buddies” and always will be.

Services for 10-year-old Brieanna Layne Descant will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.

Her obituary says that Brieanna was someone who left an impact on everyone’s life. She was a genuine and caring person. She loved to sing and was always full of life. She had a love for cheerleading, as she was always cheering, even teaching her younger sister Skyler, different routines.

Funeral services for 9-year-old Cierra Elise Bordelon were held Saturday, January 12, 2019.

Cierra was a fourth grader at Lafargue Elementary School and participated in Marksville Little League Baseball, playing catcher and second base position. She also enjoyed singing and dancing. A competitive person she was! Regardless of the game, Cierra was going to try to win! 

Cierra’s best friend was her brother Jaymen who walked in the shadow of “Sissy’s” footsteps. They played, fought, laughed and cried together. 

Funeral services for 13-year-old Cara Descant were also held Saturday, January 12.

An eighth grader at Avoyelles Public Charter School,  she will always be remembered for the impact she made. She loved her teachers and her classmates and tried to help them in any way she could. A member of the Fierce Team and Honor Choir, Cara thrived on taking leadership roles and working with others.
