Lafayette community leaders continue their push for a ban on smoking in bars and restaurants.

If it’s up to one Lafayette City-Parish councilman, that ban would come with the repealing of another. If the smoking ban is put in place, that would mean smokers would have to leave their beverages inside while they step out for a smoke break.

The smoking ban and the repeal of the go-cup ban are both on schedule to be introduced at Tuesday’s council meeting.
