• Lafayette police are investigating a Monday night shooting they believe could be connected to a deadly shooting in Grand Coteau. Police are searching for Brandon Savoy and Shantianna Pierre.
  • The Lafayette city-parish council approved 2 ordinances which could give both city police officers and employees at LCG, a 2% pay raise in the future, if revenues in the city are up by 2% based on budget audits.
  • A proposal to legalize sports betting at Louisiana’s casinos and Racetracks is advancing in the Senate. The measure was sent to the full senate with a 3-1 vote Tuesday.
  • A bill to bring back three separate sales tax holidays on back to school supplies, guns, and hurricane provisions cleared the full house at the state capitol Monday.

  • The Cajundome announced changes to the Cajun Heartland State Fair. There will be no longer be a parking fee; however, there will be a $3 admission fee for patrons over two years old.
  • A local band with international flair, Latino Pulse, performs for the first time Sunday at Festival International. Latino Pulse band members are from Cuba, Columbia, Mexico, France, & Louisiana and that’s just to name a few.
