- Crowley police are investigating an overnight shooting that left one person injured. Police are still searching for a suspect and a motive.
- New Iberia police are also investigating an overnight shooting that left one person injured. The shooting happened near the intersection of Sere street and Pelican street.
- Last night Crowley city officials met and discussed a number of agenda items. Members of the public safety committee including the police chief discussed the status of the 22 new police cars. 16 have been delivered while the remaining 6 are still up for discussion.
- According to the Lafayette Fire Department 14 people total went to the doctor as a result of the hydrated Lime spill by LUS on Sunday. LUS has given the all clear, and says the chemical was not hazardous to residents.
- Our Lady of Lourdes has the only Burn Center in southwest Louisiana, treating patients from severe to minor injuries. Doctors are giving safety tips on how to prevent burns during National Burn Awareness Week.
- Vitalant will hold a blood drive on the campus of UL Lafayette today. Blood donor mobiles will be parked by Dupre library and the conference center until 3 p.m.
- The Butterfly Effect is seeking volunteers to help move and setup for their free prom dress give away this weekend. The event will be held on Sunday at the Northgate Mall.
