LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)— Governor John Bel Edwards toured some of the flood-ravaged parts of Acadiana by helicopter Monday afternoon.

The governor’s staff said he didn’t tour the area on land because he didn’t want to interfere with any rescue or recovery efforts.

Before his helicopter tour, Edwards spent about an hour meeting with Lafayette Parish Officials inside the Lafayette Parish Emergency Operation Center.

He later met with officials in Iberia and Vermilion parishes to see what they need from the state.FULL VIDEO: Gov. Edwards speaks at Lafayette courthouse
