YOUNGSVILLE, La. (KFLY)—Governor John Bel Edwards tour of Youngsville last nearly an hour and fifteen minutes longer than scheduled.
According to a news release, the Governor spoke with several flood victims to address their concerns while touring the damaged homes in the city. His initial visit was scheduled for 45-minutes but spent nearly two hours in the city assessing damage and the recovery effort.
While in the city, the Governor met with city leaders and met with flood victims.
According to Mayor Ken Ritter, he’s very grateful the Governor chose to visit the city and meet the residents, “We are working very closely with government at all levels to provide information regarding rebuilding and recovery.” Said Ritter, “The Governor and his office have been very responsive and I am thankful for his leadership in this time of need.”
