Grand Theatre shooting victim Jillian Johnson was a member of a local group called the Figs Band. Along with the members of the group, Ginger Lee, Johnson was honored during a performance Sunday at Festival International titled “A Tribute to Jillian Johnson.”
The group says it wanted to honor Jillian in a setting that she loved, Festival. The Figs recorded two albums and played at Festivals and Venues across the U.S. and one large country music festival in France.
When Jillian’s life was tragically cut short last July, The Figs had been consistently playing for about a year and had plans of booking more gigs.
