KAPLAN, La. (KLFY) – A Gueydan couple is accused of stealing over $1,800 from a bar in Kaplan.

Police Chief Boyd Adams said officers responded to Sue’s Saddle Up Saloon on November 10, 2016, to an alarm sounding.

Officers found the front door open and discovered money had been stolen from the bar.

Through their investigation, police obtained arrest warrants for Byron Williams and his wife, Rachelle Williams, both of Gueydan.

Adams said both were arrested this afternoon on charges of simple burglary.

Bond has been set at $12,000.
