(KLFY)- Alton Trahan with Lafayette Fire Department says LUS was digging to repair a sewer line on Duncan Circle.
Trahan says a gas line was hit in the process.
He says gas entered the sewer line which then prompted a precautionary evacuation of four homes in the area.
Trahan tells News Ten the gas line has been secured.
Duncan and Harwell are closed for safety.
