A Bush family spokesman says 92-year-old Barbara Bush is currently suffering from congestive heart failure.  We also know she has battled bronchitis and Graves’ disease for decades.

Graves’ Disease is an immune system disorder.   It’s an overproduction of thyroid hormones.
Symptoms can include a tremor in the hands and fingers, bulging eyes, a rapid or irregular heartbeat and heat sensitivity.

Doctors say Graves’ disease can affect anyone. However it is more common among women and those under age 40.

Barbara Bush first started treatment in 1989 for Graves’ Disease.
Again her spokesperson is not saying the cause of the congestive heart failure, just that the family is stopping further medical treatment.
