LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) A heavy police presence was spotted Monday night around 8 p.m. on Congress Street, at the RaceTrac gas station near Rouse’s, and also on Bertrand Drive near the South Louisiana Community College campus, also n ear Rouse’s.
KLFY has learned that two police investigations are underway.
On Congress Street, a bicyclist was struck by a passing vehicle.
Lafayette Police have confirmed that the bicyclist was transported to a local hospital in critical, but stable condition.
On Bertrand, Lafayette police confirmed that officers were called to the scene of a bomb threat on the SLCC community college campus.
As of 10 p.m. Monday, police said the all clear has been given and no injuries were reported.
