St. Martin Parish Sheriff Detectives have arrested a man they believe is connected to at least eight vehicle burglaries.
29 year old Trent Duplechin of Henderson was arrested Saturday on numerous charges after deputies received information that a vehicle that was suspected of being used in recent vehicle burglaries was seen in the area of George Dupuis Rd.
When they arrived, deputies say they observed the suspected vehicle in the driveway of a residence located in the 1000 block of George Dupuis Road.
Deputies received permission to search and several items from the vehicle burglaries were located and recovered.

Duplechin was charged with the following:
outstanding warrant for Lafayette-failure to appear (Warrant-Illegal Possession of Stolen Things)
simple burglary of a motor vehicle (8 counts)
driving under suspension
possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substance
illegal carrying of a weapon
carrying of firearm by convicted felon
Following his arrest, Duplechin was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.
An investigation is ongoing.
