- Police in Grand Coteau are currently investigating an overnight shooting that left one person injured. They say three suspects entered a residence on Bellamin St. in an attempted robbery. They then shot the victim and stole 2 vehicles from the residence as they fled. The investigation is ongoing.
- State police are investigating an officer involved shooting after officers responded to a call of shots fired. The suspect exchanged gunfire with police before being arrested for allegedly shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend and injuring another man.

- Port Barre police are investigating a crash that seriously injured a 10-year-old autistic boy. The boy was riding his bicycle in a private driveway before going into the roadway, where he was struck by a passing vehicle.
- False alarms have become a major issue in the Maurice fire district. Fire officials the first 3 false alarms in the span of a year will not result in a fine. However, after that, a fine will be imposed.
