Another summer-like day is expected for Acadiana this Friday.  Temperatures will kick off in the lower 70s before climbing into the upper 80s this afternoon as the heat index reaches the lower 90s.  Some isolated showers are possible this morning with a few pop up storms later today but rain chances will only be around 20-30%.

A disturbance moves through Acadiana on Saturday, bringing rain chances up to 70%.  There is a low threat for severe weather, along with a low threat to see heavy rains.  Storm Prediction Center has a “Marginal” to “Slight” risk for severe weather outlined for much of Acadiana.  Damaging winds will be the main threat but large hail and/or a weak tornado can’t be ruled out.  On average, 1-3″ inches of rain is possible with isolated higher amounts of 4″ inches or more.  I think the flash flooding threat is low but with any system we always need to monitor the threat for Acadiana.

Sunday will be much quieter with a minimal rain chance but it will turn hot with a high near 87°.
