EUNICE, La. (KLFY)- The Humane Society of Louisiana is offering a reward for information on alleged animal abuse in the Eunice area.

According to witnesses who where were canoing Bayou Des Cannes on June 1, a man in a white truck grabbed the dog by the back of the neck and threw it over the bridge on Old Basile Highway. 

The dog survived the fall swam toward the canoers who took the animal to a nearby veterinarian. 

The x-rayed exam showed a pellet lodged near his groin area, the Humane Society said. 

 “The dog’s amazing story was shared with the Humane Society on social media, and the group immediately offered to pay for the dog’s care and offered a $500.00 reward for information that leads to the person responsible for this horrible crime,” the organization said.
