The city of Youngsville is looking much cleaner today thanks to hundreds of volunteers.

This morning more than 200 people showed up at Youngsville City Hall to be apart of the annaul city-wide cleanup.

The Keep Youngsville Beautiful committee and the city all teamed up for the big event.

Trash bags, and gloves were provided to participants, and breakfast was also provided before the event began.

Youngsville Mayor Ken Ritter said the cleanup efforts removed more than 30,000 pounds of trash from the streets.

” Today marks a week since we held our Mardi Gras Parade, and things were looking a little rough.  Their were beads in trees and trash along the roadway. I was so humbled by everyone who came out and gave of their time to help clean up and keep our city beautiful,” Ritter said.
