The husband of St. Martinville Mayor Melinda Mitchell was arrested for again violating a protective order filed by a council member in St. Martinville.
St Martinville Police chief Rickey Martin says that Lawrence Mitchell went to a special council meeting where District 2 Councilman was at.
Prosper filed a protective order against Mitchell.
Martin says that Mayor Melinda Mitchell asked her husband to leave and he eventually did.
Lawrence Mitchell was later picked up and arrested for violating the protective order.
When he arrived to be processed for booking, Mitchell allegedly threw himself out of the police unit and injured himself, according to Martin.
He was taken to a hospital to treat his injuries before being processed in the St. Martin Parish Jail.
In January, Mitchell was arrested for violating the protective order filed by Prosper.
