The following was released by St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office:

(St. Martinville, LA)-We understand that these are trying times for all of those affected by the recent flooding in St. Martin Parish. We would like to stress the vital importance of reporting any and all damages sustained to homes and businesses. You are not only helping yourself but also your neighbors to receive assistance from FEMA.

We have been diligently patrolling the Parish and we see the widespread damage. Please encourage your friends and family to call the number below to report their damages.

In order to determine if St. Martin Parish will qualify for Federal Assistance with FEMA, we are asking that any resident or business owner that sustained flood damage, to please contact the St. Martin Parish OHSEP Office at (337) 394-2810 or via email at ohsep@stmartinsheriff.org.

When you call or email, please have the following information available:

  1. Name and Address
  2. Contact Information (phone and email)
  3. Pictures of any and all damage
  4. How deep the water was
  5. Whether you own or rent the property
  6. Whether or not you have flood insurance coverage

In order to determine if St. Martin Parish qualifies for Federal Assistance with FEMA, Presidents Obama has to do a Presidential declaration which has not happened yet. Therefore, please call as soon as possible to report your damages. This applies to homes and businesses.

The EOC Call Center will be open from 6:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. to accept calls from individuals and businesses who suffered damage from the flooding that occurred in St. Martin Parish. If you call after 10:00 p.m., you can leave a message and you will receive a return phone call the following day from a call taker.
