LAFAYETTE, La. (The Advertiser)- Mayor-President Joel Robideaux has appointed an interim director of LUS Fiber, effective until a permanent director is named.

Teles Fremin, who has worked for Lafayette Utilities System for more than 17 years and served in various roles, will be the first director of LUS Fiber, since it has been recognized as a separate entity from LUS since Nov. 1.

Fremin has been involved with the LUS Fiber project since its inception, according to a press release from Lafayette Consolidated Government. In 2010, she was named LUS Fiber’s Chief Engineer.

Fremin assumes the role following the retirement of LUS Director Terry Huval earlier this year. A native of New Iberia, she has a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
