Two Iowa men are accused of trying to take street signs in Welsh to sell them for scrap in Iowa.
Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Deputies say on Saturday, they noticed Marion Edwards removing a signpost from the ditch on the side of a roadway.
Deputies then found several signs in the back of a truck parked nearby with Christopher Adler inside.
Adler told deputies that the City of Iowa told them that they could sell the signs that were down for scrap.
Deputies told the two men that they were not allowed to remove city or parish signs to be sold as scrap.
Adler was arrested on charges of Theft and Illegal possession of stolen things. Edwards was booked on Theft, illegal possession of stolen things and attempted theft.
Both were booked into the parish jail with no bond, Deputies say.
