NEW IBERIA, La. (KLFY) – Iberia Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrest two juveniles for trespassing, recovering a stolen handgun and Ipad.
Deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 1600 block of Lakeside Drive this Monday morning.
Authorities tell KLFY News 10 they were dispatched in reference to four males trespassing.
Deputies say once they arrived they observed four males running through several private yards then onto the Squirrel Run Golf Course.
Two of the four suspects were apprehended by deputies and were later identified as juveniles, ages 15 and 16 years old. Deputies say a stolen handgun and stolen Ipad were recovered.
The juveniles are believed by authorities to be responsible for recent burglaries in the area.
Juvenile detectives with the Iberia Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating those incidents.
Both juveniles were arrested and one of the suspects was transported to a juvenile detention center where he is currently being held.
