The Lafayette Parish School Board, on Wednesday, chose an Interim Superintendent.
The two candidates, Irma Trosclair and Bart Thibodeaux, were interviewed during a closed door meeting.
Each made a presentation detailing their plans for the next school year, and in the end the board voted for Trosclai, 9-0.
She will assume the head position beginning May 18, replacing Don Aguillard who announced that he is retiring.
