JENNINGS, La. ( KLFY)– Deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of Taylor Street in Jennings for a call reporting a male and female armed with a gun trying to break into a home, authorities say.
Chief Deputy Christopher Ivey with the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff Office tells KLFY that when deputies arrived at the scene, the complainant told them a white female knocked on her door and began cursing and yelling.
The complainant said that she started to close the door when a black male ran from around the corner and pushed the door into her causing injury to her arm.
According to a news release, the complainant said she did not know the female but did know the male and attempted to shut the door again, however the male pushed her several times.
The complainant said she saw a gun in the front waistband area of the male’s pants.
Chief Deputy Ivey tells News 10 that deputies were able to identify the male as Trevor J. Goodwin, 18, of Mermentau, La. and the female subject by video surveillance cameras.
A news release said the female suspect was a juvenile and was released to a parent.
Goodwin was arrested for criminal trespassing, simple criminal damage to property, aggravated burglary and aggravated second-degree battery. He was held in the parish jail with no bond.
