DUSON, La. (KLFY) Shortly after midnight, firefighters from Judice and Duson responded to 1710 Ridge Road to a report of smoke inside the business.

Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were on scene due to a burglary alarm activating.

When deputies arrived, smoke was noticed inside the store. The fire department was immediately notified. 

Fire crews arrived and discovered the fire in the attic area above the store. The fire was quickly extinguished. The interior of the store sustained heavy smoke and water damage. The attic sustained fire damage. 

Lafayette fire investigators determined the fire originated in the attic.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
