Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand has issued an Endangered Child Alert after the biological father reportedly took a 3-week-old child from his mother’s home and threatened to harm him.

3-week-old Kingston Davis was at home with his mother on Friday when 24-year-old Cameron Davis arrived to visit.

At some point, an argument ensued, according to the sheriff’s office, and Cameron Davis left the home with the baby.

Davis returned to the home with the baby and a semi-automatic handgun and reportedly pointed it at the child’s mother, threatened her before leaving with the baby again.

The sheriff’s office said the mother eventually was able to contact Davis, who reportedly said he should have killed the baby while the mother was pregnant, apparently referencing a previous domestic violence incident.

The sheriff’s office also said Davis wanted previous domestic violence charges against him dropped and threatened to use the child as a ‘human shield’ if police tried to intervene, also threatening to kill the baby before he would be arrested.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Cameron Davis, who may be headed on a bus toward Houston. The baby’s mother said Cameron Davis had contacted his mother and then purchased a bus ticket to Houston.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Cameron Davis or his son, Kingston Davis, is asked to contact Personal Violence Detective Judd Harris or Lieutenant Curtis Matthews at 504-364-5300 or CRIMESTOPPERS.
