LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)— Juveniles arrested after Lafayette Parish deputies respond to da burglary in progress call, authorities said.

According to a news release, deputies responded to a burglary in progress in the 300 block of Latin Circle in Lafayette Parish.

Deputies said, upon arrival, they noticed a young male armed with a handgun exiting the east side window of a home.

Deputies said the juvenile was apprehended following a foot pursuit.

According to Public Information Officer, John Mowell, the handgun which was carried by the juvenile was a .45 caliber Hi-Point which was stolen earlier in the morning at a previous burglary in the 100 block of Crooked Creek.

Deputies said that four others were discovered within the vacant home, one of them was identified by police as Jeremy Comeaux, 17. The other three were juveniles.

Mowell said, Comeaux and the three other juveniles were taken into custody and charged with criminal trespassing.

The other juvenile apprehended was charged with possession of a firearm by a juvenile, possession of stolen property, criminal trespassing, and resisting arrest, authorities said.
