The Krewe of Triton 40th annual ball took place this Saturday at the Cajundome. This year’s theme was all about celebrating their history.
During the ball, the Krewe looked back at their time since being first founded in 1980.
Vice-Commador Chuck Peddy says the Krewe of Triton has been a part of his life for years, “My family has been involved in the Krewe since the beginning. My father was one of the founding members. All four of my sisters, both of my daughters, my wife, they’ve all been presented as maids. One of my daughters was a queen, I’ve been king, my father was a duke.”
Peddy tells News 10 that while being a part of the Krewe is far more than just the Mardi Gras ball, they work all year long to prepare for it. Once this festival season is over, they will have one month of break time before preparing for next year’s celebrations, but he says seeing everyone enjoy themselves makes it all worth it.
Their parade will roll on Monday at 6:30pm.
