Lafayette firefighters responded to 110 Julian Circle just after 4 a.m. for a reported house fire.

A neighbor was awakened by a loud popping noise, looked out her window, and could see heavy smoke and flames in the carport area.

When firefighters arrived, the flames were through the roof of the structure. A vehicle under the carport was also burning.

Firefighters were able to search the residence for occupants. Fortunately, no one was home.

Firefighters remained on the scene for several hours extinguishing the fire. The dwelling and the vehicle sustained heavy fire damage.

The owners lost practically everything in the early morning fire.

The fire originated in the carport /storage area of the dwelling. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
