Members of the Lafayette Fire Department and Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 619 will fan out across Lafayette with boots in hand, asking pedestrians, motorists, customers and other passersby to make a donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association for the fire fighters’ annual Fill the Boot fundraising campaign.
For 65 years, fire fighters have stood on the front lines to help MDA raise critical funds to help transform the lives of kids and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases.
Funds raised through 2019 Lafayette Fill the Boot drives help the MDA save lives and lift those up in need, by providing the MDA with vital resources and support, including state-of-the-art support groups and Care Centers.
They also help give more than 100 local kids the opportunity to experience the best week of the year where anything is possible at MDA Summer Camp at no cost to their families at Camp Starlite.
The campaign will be located at several intersections across Lafayette and will be held on March 9th, March 30th, and April 20th from 9:00 am – 12:00pm.
