LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)—Lafayette Habitat for Humanity will host a home dedication in the honor of the Dorion family purchasing their new home.

This is the second house Habitat and volunteers have built in the Pinhook subdivision, located in the McComb/Veazey neighborhood.

Habitat staff will present keys to the new homeowner during the dedication.

The new homeowners Joleen Dorion, Dorion’s young daughter and two adopted nephews will also reside in the home.

Dorion says that not many people realize what a blessing it is.

“I want to thank Habitat for the opportunity, for extending it to not only people whose houses are destroyed but to people who are bettering their lives and themselves to become homeowners. Thank you for looking out for the middle man.”

Habitat for Humanity is inviting community members, volunteers, and donors to attend the June 22, ceremony.

The ceremony will be held at 219 Gauthier Road from 5:30 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016.
