LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – This morning Lafayette Police responded to a trespassing call on the 100 block of Fanny Street.
The home owner allegedly saw a naked man, armed with multiple weapons in the backyard. The home owner shot and killed the undressed trespasser.
The official details are scare but, throughout the morning we saw detectives on the scene, speaking with residents and gathering evidence trying to piece this bizarre story together.
Karen Price told News 10, “I’ve been working here five years and it’s very quiet. Nothing has ever happened in five years. It’s a very peaceful neighborhood.”
Some neighbors say they heard two shots, others say as many as three, but none of them spotted the undressed, gun-toting suspect.
“That’s pretty weird. I mean, I don’t know how he got that far, if he was naked,” Price said adding she has no idea who the naked man was, but she doesn’t think he’s from the neighborhood.
Corporal Bridgette Dugas of the Lafayette Police Department says the name of the suspect has not yet been learned, “We have not identified the suspect at this time so, I can’t answer that at this time as far as if he was homeless or if he lived in the area.”
