Moss Honda on Surrey Street in Lafayette is now operating under a new name and new ownership.

The Community Auto Group purchased Moss Honda, 1407 Moss Street., and changed its name to Community Honda of Lafayette.

The Community Honda Group, owned by Roger and Kim Elsick, also owns 3 dealerships in nearby BayTown, Texas.

The negotiations began in late 2018, and the new dealership has retained all the Moss Honda employees who wanted to stay, General Manager Brad Childress said.

Childress declined to reveal the purchase price.

“We are family owned and we want to treat people like family,” Childress said.  We believe that the customer is the boss and no one else.” Childress said. 

A banner displaying the new name has been draped over the Moss Honda logo.

“We are driven by customer satisfaction which for us means customer retention.” Childress said. We want buying a car very quick and easy and transparent.”
