SCOTT, La. (KLFY)— A Lafayette man is being accused of simple burglary, authorities say.
According to a spokesperson with the Scott Police Department, on July 26, officers with the Scott Police and Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office were called to the 200 block of Doan Drive for a residential burglary.
The victim reported to authorities that a male was in his garage and a white SUV was parked in his driveway.
As law enforcement arrived at the residence they say they stopped a white SUV which they observed leaving the home and detained the occupant who was identified as Carson Girouard for questioning.
After the Victim’s surveillance camera system was reviewed, police say the footage clearly showed Girouard was the suspect in the burglary.
According to a news release, the victim’s garage had been rummaged through but it appeared nothing was taken.
Carson Junior Girouard, 31, of Lafayette, was arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correction Center on one count of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
