SCOTT, La. (KLFY) – Scott Police have arrested a man after responding to a report of a prowler early Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to the scene at 12:06 a.m. in the 100 block of Jerome Road.

According to Chief Chad Leger, the resident who made the complaint said a male was seen peering into her daughter’s bedroom window.

When she confronted the man he asked to use her telephone.

She then dialed 911.

Officers were able to locate Melvin Jolivette, 51, of Lafayette in the 700 block of Lebesque Road.

Chief Leger says Jolivette admitted to peering into the complainant’s daughter’s window.

He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on a Peeping Tom and Criminal Trespassing charge and on unrelated warrants.
