LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)- A Lafayette jury convicted 45-year-old Isame Henry Faciane of five counts of aggravated crimes against nature in the 15th Judicial District before Judge David Smith on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.
The charges stemmed from the defendant molesting his juvenile step-child for several years, authorities said.
The jury, consisting of three men and three women, heard from the investigating officer, the victim, her mother and other witnesses.
The defendant will be sentenced in early 2019 and faces potentially five to 20 years on each of the five counts and will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kenneth P. Hebert.
The case was investigated by Det. Robbie White with the Lafayette Police Department.
