WASHINGTON, La. (KLFY) – The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday evening.

The shooting happened at 11:44 p.m. on Della Drive.

According to Major Eddie Thibodeaux, A woman called 911 to report an unidentified suspect was shooting inside of her residence and she was hiding in the closet.

Multiple gunshots can be heard in the background while the woman was on the phone.

Deputies and detectives responded and found Rodney Joseph Savoy of Lafayette dead at the scene.

The unidentified suspects fled the scene by the time authorities arrived.

Deputies are now looking for a vehicle of interest which they described as an older model which is greenish or blue in color and has damage on the driver’s side door.
