Voters in Lafayette got a chance to meet some of the Lafayette Parish’s Candidates for this year’s election at an event dubbed,” the stump speech,” which is an old fashioned way for candidates to talk directly to voters, while standing on a stump.
The open forum was held at the Horse Farm on Johnston Street Saturday from 10-a-m until 1:30 p-m. Voters were treated to a family friendly outlet complete with food trucks, a fun jump playground, a petting zoo and of course a voter registration booth.
Each candidate was given a five minute minimum to talk.
