Beginning with the 2017-2018 school year, Lafayette parish seniors are required to complete either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application or sign a Parental Nonparticipation Form in order to graduate.

This is a Louisiana Department of Education requirement, and parents must either complete the FAFSA application located at FAFSA.GOV or contact their child's school counselor to complete the Parental Nonparticipation Form. With the rising cost of tuition, it is encouraged that parents complete the FAFSA application, as it is a first step for students to receive financial aid at a 4-year university, a community college, or trade school.

Because of this, there is one final opportunity to support you in completing the FAFSA application. On April 24, from 5:30-7:30 there will be a FAFSA completion night at Northside High School.
